New Bedding is finally available in select rooms. We will slowly be changing over all the rooms.
So, after Shannon told me today that I have seemly forgotten about the work-aversary post, I am back on it for March and April. This year is just going by way to fast!
March was my work-aversary. March 15, was 2 years here at Beaufort Inn. For all those that don’t know me, I’m Jessica, the handy 23year old “jane-of-all-trades” night auditor/clerk/manager/ social media admin/ web page developer/ go to fixer for the office.
March was also Housekeeper Paula’s work-aversary. She has been working here at Beaufort Inn for 15 Years. Yes, I said 15! Thats a long time!! She is technically the head housekeeper is we are talking seniority and she’s in her 50’s.
On to April…
Shannon has now been here for 1 year! Yay. Kudos to her for reminding me about this blog post. She’s one of our day clerk persons and we appreciate her very very much!! She’s 24, and works part-time at K-Mart too. We just can’t get her to quit working there, cause they need her too I guess. But for all you lucky bachelors out there under the age of 30 and over the age of 24… She is Single!!🙂
This April there have been some changes, and I’m sure you regulars will notice. We welcomed aboard Asuka. Yes that is her name! Judy is no longer with us here at Beaufort Inn. In March we also welcomed aboard Tammie as a 4th housekeeper.
We appreciate all of our guests for staying with us. The past few months has been busy, and its continueing to get busier, and we are so thankful for the business, and are able to make a few minor upgrades you will notice. So enjoy, and see you soon!!
This afternoon we switched it up a bit and put strawberries and cool whip out for weekend refreshments. Everyone is sure enjoying them.
Mark picked them up from Lewis Farm close to Wilmington.
Well its a start that is, for Healthier options. We added over a month ago offering Yogurt for breakfast. Tonight we started with a veggie assorment to replace the cheese and crachers that we generally have for refreshments. Now don’t get all uptight on me now, because we still have the cookies. We all need healthier options though. And for many of us on a diet having that option to have a couple baby carrots for less than 30 calories, instead of having that cookie that is 180 calories is a great opportunity.
I started with a personal trainer this past week to help me acheive my goal of losing about 55lbs. Thats a lot, but the guy is really good and helps me work muscles I didn’t know I had! But he checks my diet. And Diet doesn’t have to mean that you are cutting calories or going on weight watchers, just simply diet is the food you eat. So When I tell him I had a cookie, he frowns and says “you can do better” and I know I’m only hurting myself. But tempting cookies get in the way. So having those carrots and veggies staring up at you right beside those pesky cookies saying Eat Me not that… it helps to overcome those sneaky calories, and drive my healthy eating choices. (Yes, we staff are very tempted to eat the cookies and sometimes we snag one). Plus we all know you want to get healthy & stay healthy too… even on vacation!
So enjoy our new touch of refreshments this summer, and hopefully we will be able to change it up a bit each with and keep a variety.
So we have been busy, so Yes I forget to write naturally. But thats not all my fault though I tell you… Internact with us and I’ll be more encouraged to write more.🙂
So Floating docks are officially and completely installed and one of our Term Rentals is already in. yay. They look great and people love them. We’ve had quite a few boats come in here already and look forward to having more.
T-Shirts… Well we here just can’t seem to choose a design we all like. I’m going to be honest- Ego’s get in the way. So we are in the progess of getting the t-shirt company to design them for us!
Bruce turns 75 on Wednesday. Yes, I did say 75! The man still runs around here like he was a juvenile trying to get things done. But we here at Beaufort Inn will wish him a very very happy 75th birthday.
This month we also welcomed aboard a new housekeeper, Tammie. She’s doing a gre working with us. It has been a busy busy season so far, with many different groups and just people traveling, which we enjoy. We got new brochures in, so we are now into the whole QR code era. Change is good, and very effective.
We look forward to seeing you all this year, and I suggest that you start booking early. The next time we have a water room available will be after the music festival, so get on the ball guys…. Make your reservations!!🙂 I’m here til 11pm for reservations daily. See you soon.
So I’ve been meaning to write for a couple days, but its been a bit busy. Sorry.
Its been an interesting week. We’ve been up in buisness which is really good. And the weather has been a lot better this week. Those chilly rainy/ cloudy days are not motivational for writing but today is a warm 60ish degree day. If only the weather would keep getting this warm then business would boom.. Yes, Yes I know Spring starts on March 20th.. but we still have some cold days ahead. Spring is in the Air though.
Easter is right around the corner. And yes, we do indeed still have rooms. We still have the March Special going on for our Suites and King Special rooms.
We will have a group in with us this week coming up. They have us full on Monday and Tuesday night as well as our competetion- Such a large group. We look forward to them staying with us though.
We have also had quite a bit of excellet reviews on Trip Advisor and thank all of our guests who have left us great feedback and hope to see you all again soon.
If we haven’t seen you yet this year. We do hope to see you soon!
*Also as a note- AAA discounts are only availble for with valid AAA cards (excluding Holidays and Special Events*
Today has been an interesting day and I would like to share with our readers and guests some of our policies and why.
1) When you make a reservation you are reserving for a specific room type. Meaning that you are reserving for example a Queen bed on the Channel. Well for us here at Beaufort Inn we have this type of room on all three floors. SO you say well I want the third floor. Well not everyone can have the third floor. We do not guarentee which floor you will be on but will only guarentee a room type!
We do not guarentee Room numbers for many reasons. Such as What if something happened to that room and it had a leak (we hope it never does but you never know) then we can’t put you in there and you will be upset you didn’t get what you promised. We are gracious enough to put you in the specific type of room you requested and ask that you please do not argue with us. I know we all want to get what we want and it todays society – its all about the ME factor, but to ensure you get the best service we need Happy employees not frustrated one! Thanks for your understanding!
2) We are Human and computers are Not! What I mean is that as humans we all make mistakes and you just have to move on and get over these mistakes. We try our best to give you the best and most accurate rates and information to the best of our abilities. However with technology and the age of automation such with our online reservations system- we have had a glitch or two! Now we haven’t even had web reservations for a year and we are doing very well with it and it is ever growing. We are thankful to those of you who enjoy booking online. However, Computers do fail us. Tonight we had a reservation come through online for two double beds, which we did not have available. We looked for anything else we could put them in, but just do not have it available. We responded and told the other options that we had and emailed- because if you are like me you book online so you don’t have to speak with someone on the phone. Unfortunatly these things happen and we should all take it in stride because we are not computers, and sometimes things happen.
Policy is put in place to not just there to protect you but also to protect us. Thank you for understanding!
